On December 3rd and 4th, the Intercontinental Science Foundation, Inc. (ISF) convened at Boston College for a workshop entitled “The Media and Community Empowerment: Redefining Leadership.”  (Pictures below.)  The ISF is a non-profit organization founded in 2009 by former Lonergan Institute post-doctoral fellows for the purpose of collaboration and the production, application, and transfer of knowledge with a focus on Africa and the people of African origin.  ISF’s initiatives have included a learning center in Uganda, a spelling bee for immigrant children in Boston, and an annual conference.

Out of the 2016 conference came a brand new initiative, the online Talk Africa Radio Network.  Talk Africa Radio will broadcast exclusively online and provide a platform to have guests and listeners “talk as Africans and friends of Africa; talk about Africa; and to harness the knowledge gained” and put it into practice for the betterment of African people.  A wide range of conversation topics is planned, from arts and culture to the economy and the workforce.
